We accept applications by mail. In order to qualify you must have owned your home for at minimum five years. When you submit the application you must also include a copy of your deed or title (if it is a trailer). You must also include the financial information for everyone that is in the household. Financially you must be at or below 80% of the Area Medium Income to qualify.
We serve families in Smyth and portions of Wythe, Washington and Grayson Counties that border Smyth.
Most of our rehab occurs during the late spring to early fall when the weather is more conducive to working outdoors. Applications will not be accepted between September 1st and December 31st. We begin receiving applications January 1st and will receive applications up to August 31st of each year, however you can call the office and we will discuss if there is a possibility of getting to you before the end of the year. We require anyone who has an application in that we are not able to help in the year of application to submit new financial documents at the beginning of the next year in order to keep the application current.
