He served in that capacity for six years and then in 2008 he was hired as our part-time Administrative Assistant, which he has held since. He responds to phone inquiries as well as handles the day to day financial responsibilities of the project. He also likes to volunteer and help with our firewood deliveries or go with us to deliver disaster relief supplies.

He has been a member of Davis Memorial UMC since 1960 were he was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was the Sunday School superintendent for five years. He has been a member of the Atkins Volunteer Fire Department since 1971 and is the only active charter member. He was in banking for his professional career.

Howard has been involved in missions since his first trip to Haiti in 1984. He has been to Haiti four times on construction trips. He has been to South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida following hurricanes for disaster relief and response.
