Harry is married to Denise and has two children.

Harry was born in Kingsport, TN and raised in Pinson, Alabama a suburb of Birmingham where he  graduated from Pinson Valley HS in 1973. He graduated from Athens State College in 1977 with BS Degree and graduated from Vanderbilt University, Divinity School in 1982 with M Div Degree. In 2010 he went back to Lincoln Memorial University where he graduated in 2012 from the Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Physician Assistant Program with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.

He served in pastoral appointments in the North Alabama Conference at Boyd’s Chapel UMC 1976-1982; in Holston Conference at the Marion East Circuit UMC 1982-1993. In June of 1993 he was appointed to the General Board of Global Ministries as a Church and Community Worker with Project Crossroads. With the Holston Annual Conference of 2013 he officially was appointed as a Church and Community Worker of the Holston Conference due to the status of his support.

Harry is an Ordained Elder of Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church; a commissioned Missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of UMC; a Physician Assistant licensed in Virginia; a Certified Master Electrician, Plumber and Mechanical HVAC in Virginia; and holds the Certification for Contractors License in Virginia. He also is a Paramedic in Virginia.

Besides being the founder and Executive Director of Project Crossroads, he serves on Mel Leaman Free Clinic Board of Smyth County as Board Chair, serves as the Chair of Board of Commissioners for Marion Redevelopment & Housing Authority, serves as the Disaster Coordinator for Abingdon District of UMC.

In his role with the medical outreach program of Project Crossroads he is a Physician Assistant (Primary Care Provider with the Mel Leaman Free Clinic in Marion, Virginia) He also serves as the Host Community Coordinator for the RAM of Smyth County (Remote Area Medical) providing medical, dental and vision services during a three day clinic event each May. He has served as a member of Holston Conference teams to Sudan in 2007, Co-Leader of 2008 and 2009 teams, and member of 2014 Conference team (all medical teams). He is an Adjunct Professor for Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine PA Program at LMU and an Adjunct Professor for Emory and Henry College – School of Health Science PA Program teaching students in the clinic and some lectures in the classroom.

Denise works as a CNA and business manager as well as a floater in other areas of the Mel Leaman Free Clinic as needed. It is the first time that I have had the opportunity to work side by side with Denise and in the clinic setting where we can help those without insurance it is particularly rewarding. This is truly a calling by God for both of us, in service together.
