During the winter of 1993/1994 we had two ice storms that brought down many trees in our area. We received calls from families with trees down asking if we could use them in our ministry. We had been delivering some kindling from a local factory up to that point, but now we had a source for firewood. This began our firewood ministry. We provide firewood for qualifying families that depend on it for a primary or secondary source of heat. We begin deliveries the first of November and depending on availability of our wood deliver to March 15th. Each family that qualifies may receive one pickup truck loads of wood a month.
We have some church teams that come specifically to help cut, split and stack our firewood in preparation for the winter season. Some teams cut while the rest of their team is working with our rehab ministry, and some teams schedule to come for a few days during the week or weekend. If you are interested in bringing a team please contact us and complete the application in order to be a part of this vital ministry.
